Download a piece of software, make a gitlab repo (depending on the name you have to make a repo in a specific place ([https://docs.gitlab.com/user/project/pages/getting_started_part_one/#user-and-group-website-examples](see Gitlab Docs)).\nWrite content and Sync.\nLiterally, that’s it!

The journey
\n
I made websites in HTML before CSS was even conceived off. I had a .com domain when I had no need or item to present myself on the internet with. I liked the X-Files, and thus crazy-mulder.com was born.\nI seen the rise and fall of Wordpress and even made many a websites myself with it.\nI even dabbled in Jekyll, Hugo and whatever other SSG (Static Site Generator) exists out there.\nBut Publii? That just takes the biscuit.

The Discovery
\n
One day I ask some (insert generic llm name here) ai if there is a better way to make website for free in 2026, in the answer either Publii or using Ghost to make a locally hosted ghost-site, scrape it with some 3rd party tool, and then
git commit
and
git push
the result.

\n
No Thank You

\n
So I tried Publii, and seriously, within 2 minutes of figuring out where to get Gitlabs token and where to store the site, I had a live site with some silly hello world page, and now I’m writing this post.

And with the next click of a button, y’all get to see my ravings online!

Peace Out\nSebastian
",
